I grew up in a pretty normal household. Finra Village had a port where I always enjoyed playing around and helping my father with his fishing business. My father often came home drunk, but he was never violent and loved my mother over anything. Since I was young he trained me in combat and always told me that it was important for a man to be strong to protect his family. My mother taught me how to read and write and not get into so many fights.

When I became an adult, I moved to a close city where I could work in the harbour. At first, I was just carrying around barrels and boxes, but when they found out that I was a skilled fighter they put me on guard duty instead. The pay was good, and I could even sometimes travel with the ship to foreign places.

After breaking my spear on duty, I had to buy another one. When I entered the weapons-shop a strangely shining glaive caught my eyes. The owner praised the weapon and told me it was the best piece in his collection. But he warned me, I had to praise the weapon, or it would be useless. The price was good, and I didn’t believe that old man’s story anyway.

The first night after buying the new weapon I had a vision of a woman crying for help, telling me to look for her. These nightmares didn’t stop. I tried to find the shop-owner but when I entered the shop it was empty. After countless sleepless nights, I couldn’t stand it anymore. I listened to the voice and joined the crew of the ship she told me about. The nightmares stopped but from time to time the woman told me how I could find her, guiding my journey. Everything she predicted became true. It was scary at first but started to become convenient, almost like knowing the future. Instead of showing me scary visions I now spend my dreams mostly talking to her.

The woman is a part of the glaive, called Suffering. Little is known about her, who she was and what she wants.

Session 1 - Prologue

After a hard day fighting, well mainly flying, you gladly lie to rest. Once you dozed off the young ghostlike lady steps into your dream. Standing on the beach of a pure blue lake. With high green hills on the other side. She calls you to her and as you approach her she smiles at you. “Finally I have tasted blood again. Thank you! But we still have more to do. Go west and find this lake.”
