They moved together to Adwick in search of work. As a trained tanner Granpa was optimistic, and they managed to build up a small tannery, which allowed them to live an average life. Cornos is their only son, and they made sure that something would become out of him. They both died around 1400 of old age.

Cornos Zumven

Cornos Zumven was born in Adwick on 7. February 1358. His parents owned a small tannery in which they processed the skins of the hunters prey. He learned everything about tanning from his parents and felt already at a young age that he was ready to take over the family business.

During the summer of 1381 Cornos met the herbalist Selphie, who was on an excursion in the region to find better sources of certain rare herbs. Despite their age difference Cornos was eager to get to know her better. As time went on, they got closer, until the fell deeply in love. After the summer Selphie had to return to Enmalin, but they promised each other to meet again. The next few years Selphie applied for the same excursion again and again, and every summer they were together and happier than ever. Cornos didn’t care about her family’s views and inspired by his courage she didn’t either. He wanted to convince her to quit her job at the Academy and come live with him, but she wasn’t ready yet to leave her old life behind. In the summer of 1386 the inevitable happened and Sophie got pregnant, which she didn’t realize until she returned some week later.

Folwin didn’t like his daughter to be pregnant by a human and threatened to hurt her and her lover if they continued. On the day Selphie gave birth to Ruven she realized that she wasn’t save anymore in her own home. During the same night she packed her most important belongings and fled to Adwick, always in fear of being recognized or captured by her family’s goons. Cornos was happier than ever when Selphie returned with his new-born son, of which he didn’t knew of before. His parents were surprised yet proud of him and insisted on paying for a marriage ceremony as soon as possible. As Cornos was now was a young man with a son and wife, his parents decided it was time for him to take over the tannery. Selphie parented Ruven until he was old enough to care for himself, and then started to work as an herbalist again, helping the locals with their health issues.

Cornos grew to love Ruven even more than Selphie, he was the most important thing in his life. He paid for his education at the Ranger Commission, as he realized Ruven would not be interested in taking over the tannery some day just as he did. In 1427 Cornos sold the business and he and Selphie travelled for over five months around the continent, until they returned and retired themselves. They lived a happy and uneventful live, until Cornos and Selphie sadly both died in 1435 on Garlars Day.

Ruven Liafiel

Ruven is the only son of Cornos, and one of the most important people in his life. He was destined to be something great, and for every one of his successes Cornos had a big smile on his face. Their family values held them close together, and Ruven never experienced discrimination in Adwick because of Cornos’ influence as successful trader and his ability to convince people of his beliefs.
