The Gnome Academy also called The Academy is the place to learn about explosives and mechanics. It is located in the north western corner of the Dwarven Realm. As the explosions regularly get out of hand, a massive magical dome is cast around the Academy to shield the outside world from the research done inside.

Appearance

The Academy is not one massive building but numerous buildings with one main building in the centre. Every building has a similar architecture, with solid granite walls and a rounded roof. But still it is easy to make out where each of the fields is studied.

Explosive Studies

This building is rather tall, as it has many laboratories, but it also shows many patches in the walls. It is the most damaged looking one, and there is a continuous sound of explosions coming from it. It is intentionally that the building is just one story and hence covers a lot of space and it has the most chimneys, as the architects hoped that most would dissipate through them. It is the only building which has magical reinforced walls, to contain the explosions.

The Vault

As the Dwarves have great interest in explosives they build the Academy a vault. It servers to contain the most dangerous experiments. But it does badly withstand the Gnomish inventions, it has numerously been breached. Hence the magical barrier.
