Backstory of The Imminent Doom

The Imminent Doom is a period of war amongst the largest realms of Arath. This page tells the story of what happened beside the characters and what might happen in the future.

Prologue

150 years before The Imminent Doom even begins a young wizard, by the name of Blaidd Drwg, looses his much loved master. With his last breath the master ask Blaidd Drwg to find peace amongst the races.

So he set out to talk and manipulate the different rulers and councils of the world, focusing on the ones that were at war with each other. But soon he gets the nick name Bad Wolf, as he keeps on going from capital to capital not regarding the intelligence that might spread with it. So he is soon seen as a double agent by all of the realms. This continuous mistreatment, unbelieving and being called bad for trying to do good, starts to grow in him and he starts to act like it. He then stops to try to mediate between the realms and vanishes.

In this self proclaimed banishment he went to Duskcairn, where he build his tower and own little kingdom. He used his magic to break the unwilling and forces every creature and person living in the Shadow Lands to his will. There he first created his ultimate plan to destroy the world as it is currently known, he would abolish the realms and social orders and out of the ashes of the old world a new one would arise, with him as its creator and formed to his masters dreams, with no war or diseases. The key of this new world would be a new race, one that is a mixture of all other races. To create this race he started a series of experiments, but soon he was out of test subjects. So he sent out his servants to find him more.

But it was not enough to create the new race, the current world must burn. To achieve this he went back to the courts and councils to spread words of hatred and distrust amongst the realms. While he was busy charming the leadership his servants went out and spread hatred amongst the lower classes, telling them that they are the superior race and that they have the right to rule over the others.

Conquest of Dostrait

Dostrait is one of northern trading centres for the Dwarven Republic. This is why the elves want to establish a beach head there to slowly cut of the northern trade. This venture fails, as the elves have to sail past Darnach Islet and then ride the stream south.

Liberation of Dostrait

Dostrait is in the process to rekindle an old flame of liberation. Plans are being prepared to revive the resistance group Direstrait. But first trade must be revived to get money for the liberation. Though the current Governor of Dostrait has a lot of money, he does not want to be known for this.

He works together with Blaidd Drwg to liberate Dostrait, little does he know that Blaidd Drwg has other plans for his lands than he does.
